Rumor: ‘Dragon Quest Monsters 2’ remake for 3DS

Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry’s Wonderland had a remake  for 3DS last year. Now, Square Enix has registered “Iru to Ruca no Fushigi na Fushigi na Kagi”.

According to Game Jouhou, this trademark translates to “Iru and Luca’s Wonderful Mysterious Keys” and could be pointing to a “Dragon Quest Monsters 2” remake for Nintendo 3DS.

Trademarks are one of the first things that lead to rumors about a new product being made for consumers. This is no different in the world of video games. A trademark that was registered recently in Japan hints that Square Enix might be planning to remake a classic creature-battling RPG known as Dragon Quest Monsters 2.

“Iru to Ruka no Fushigi na Fushigi na Kagi” (Now say it three times fast) translates to “Iru and Luca’s Wonderful Mysterious Keys”. Iru and Luka were the main characters of Dragon Quest Monsters 2 which released back in 2001 for the Nintendo Game Boy Color.

coffeetan: I was very happy to finally see an older slime for sale on my last trip to Japan that I didn’t own yet! When you have over 70 slime plushies, it starts to get tough to acquire new additions to your collection. This is a plushie from 2002 that consists of 8 slimes connected to each other getting ready to turn into a King Slime. Each layer is connected by snaps so you can take them apart into groups of 3-3-2, but I don’t really know why you would do that aside from maybe so that you can take stupid photos like the one on the right. :)
